A. Aulia Valencia obtained his education from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Imperial College London, and TU Delft. He teaches a broad range of subjects, from foundational geology to computational geophysics and seismic methods. His research focuses on the application of geophysical techniques—such as geoelectrical methods and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)—to assess subsurface resources and utilities. He is currently working on microzonation studies and hydrocarbon exploration using passive seismic methods.
Beyond field-based geophysics, he is actively engaged in numerical modelling, particularly in understanding how compaction and vegetation influence deltaic processes, including levee breaching and mouth-bar development. His interdisciplinary approach integrates geophysics, geomorphology, and computational modelling to address challenges in sustainable delta management.
